"Memories in a snack"
My kids love eating Goldfish crackers. These days the handy snack comes in many flavors, colors and even different sizes. When I was a kid there were just the original and now when I eat them it brings back a special memory for me. My Grandma was the one who bought them for me when we would "go to the trailer" to go fishing. That statement sounds kind of odd now but "the trailer" was their vacation home situated conveniently close to Lake Rafben where they would take their boat to fish. We would also bring inner tubes to pull behind the boat and swim on the beach. When I would get bored from fishing (everyone who knows me knows I am more of a girly girl, not a fisherman although my record was catching 14 one morning) and hungry out on the boat Grandma always had a bag of little golden fish crackers and I loved them, just as my kids do now.

The trailer was parked at
Antler Acres on Lake Rathbun in Iowa near the Missouri border. The three hour ride to get there was the worst part of the weekend. You may have caught all those fish but YOU never took them off the hook.LOLgrandpa always had to do it for you.He He
